How are we Saved?

[Saved by the Blood]

"Justified by Works" - James 2:20-24 20 Do you want to be shown, you shallow man, that faith apart from works is barren? 21 Was not Abraham our father justified by works, when he offered his son Isaac upon the altar? 22 You see that faith was active along with his works, and faith was completed by works, 23 and the scripture was fulfilled which says, "Abraham believed God, and it was reckoned to him as righteousness"; and he was called the friend of God. 24 You see that a man is justified by works and not by faith alone.

"Justified by Faith" - Rom. 3:28-31 28 For we hold that a man is justified by faith apart from works of law. 29 Or is God the God of Jews only? Is he not the God of Gentiles also? Yes, of Gentiles also, 30 since God is one; and he will justify the circumcised on the ground of their faith and the uncircumcised through their faith. 31 Do we then overthrow the law by this faith? By no means! On the contrary, we uphold the law.

"Incredible Faith and/or Works without love gain you NOTHING!" - I Cor. 13:2-3 And if I have prophetic powers, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. 3 If I give away all I have, and if I deliver my body to be burned, but have not love, I gain nothing.

"Repay every man for what he has done" - Matt. 16:24-27 24 Then Jesus told his disciples, "If any man would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. 25 For whoever would save his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life for my sake will find it. 26 For what will it profit a man, if he gains the whole world and forfeits his life? Or what shall a man give in return for his life? 27 For the Son of man is to come with his angels in the glory of his Father, and then he will repay every man for what he has done.

"Repay every one for what he has done" - Rev. 22:12-13 12 Behold, I am coming soon, bringing my reward, to repay every one for what he has done. 13 I am the Alpha and the Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end.

"Reap what you Sow" - Gal. 2:7-10 Do not be deceived; God is not mocked, for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. 8 For he who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh reap corruption; but he who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life. 9 And let us not grow weary in well-doing, for in due season we shall reap, if we do not lose heart.

"The sheep & the goats" - Matthew 25:31-37 "When the Son of man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, then he will sit on his glorious throne. 32 Before him will be gathered all the nations, and he will separate them one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats, 33 and he will place the sheep at his right hand, but the goats at the left. 34 Then the King will say to those at his right hand, 'Come, O blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world; 35 for I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, 36 I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me.'

"Winning the prize" - I Cor. 9:24-27 Do you not know that in a race all the runners compete, but only one receives the prize? So run that you may obtain it. 25 Every athlete exercises self-control in all things. They do it to receive a perishable wreath, but we an imperishable. 26 Well, I do not run aimlessly, I do not box as one beating the air; 27 but I harden my body with blows and subdue it, lest after preaching to others I myself should be disqualified.

"Take up your cross" - Matt. 10:38 and he who does not take his cross and follow me is not worthy of me.

"take my yoke upon you" - Matt. 11:29-30 Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me; for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light."

"The will of God" - I Thess. 5:15-18 See that none of you repays evil for evil, but always seek to do good to one another and to all. 16 Rejoice always, 17 pray constantly, 18 give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.

"The narrow gate" - Matt. 7:13-15 "Enter by the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the way is easy, that leads to destruction, and those who enter by it are many. 14 For the gate is narrow and the way is hard, that leads to life, and those who find it are few. 15 "Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing but inwardly are ravenous wolves. 16 You will know them by their fruits. {or lack thereof}

"Thy will be done" - Matt. 6:10 Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, On earth as it is in heaven.

"See your good works" - Matt. 5:16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.

"Fully devoted to the work of the Lord" - I Cor. 15:58 Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always fully devoted to the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain.

"We must work the works" - John 9:4 We must work the works of Him who sent me, while it is day; night comes, when no one can work.

"Fruitful in every good work" - Col. 1:9-10 And so, from the day we heard of [the love of the Holy Spirit], we have not ceased to pray for you, asking that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, 10 to lead a life worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to him, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God.

"Work out your salvation" - Phil. 2:12-13 Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, so now, not only as in my presence but much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling; 13 for God is at work in you, both to will and to work for his good pleasure.

"Fire will test what sort of work" - I Cor. 3:13 13 each mans work will become manifest; for the Day will disclose it, because it will be revealed with fire, and the fire will test what sort of work each one has done. 14 If the work which any man has built on the foundation survives, he will receive a reward. 15 If any mans work is burned up, he will suffer loss, though he himself will be saved, but only as through fire.

"Shall not lose his reward" - Matt. 10:42 And whoever gives to one of these little ones even a cup of cold water because he is a disciple, truly, I say to you, he shall not lose his reward."

"Works are gifts of the divine" - CCC 2009 - ....The merits of our good works are gifts of the divine goodness. "Grace has gone before us; now we are given what is due. Our merits are God's gifts [of grace]."

"Faith is..." - Heb. 11:1-2 Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen. 2 For by it the men of old received divine approval.

"Without faith it is impossible to please God" - Heb. 11:6 And without faith it is impossible to please him. For whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.
